Giovanni Comelli is professor of Physics of Matter and Director of the Department of Physics at the University of Trieste. His research interests are the preparation and experimental characterization, at the atomic scale, of nanostructured surfaces of materials, using various complementary investigation techniques, both with the aid of synchrotron light and conventional laboratory instruments. He has carried out measurement campaigns in various research laboratories internationally and published over two hundred scientific articles in journals in the field.
