Luca Bignardi

Junior Researcher

Research Interests:
Quantum 2D materials; atomic nanoclusters

Biography

MSc in Physics (Brescia, Italy, 2008), he got his PhD in Physics at Rjksuniversiteit Groningen (NL, 2013) working on electronic properties of graphene/metal interfaces. After a postdoc at the Westfälisch-Wilhelms Universität in Münster (Germany, 2013-2015) and a postdoc at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste (2015-2018), he joined the Department of Physics at the University of Trieste in 2018 as research fellow at the Nanoscale Materials Lab. Since 2023, he is a tenure-track assistant professor in experimental physics in Trieste, working on the characterisation of 2D quantum materials and atomic clusters at surfaces.
