Daniele Fausti

Senior Researcher

Research Interests:
Quantum materials, Cavity electrodynamics, ultrafast spectroscopy, optical control

Biography

Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Groningen in 2008 under Paul Van Loosdrecht. Postdoc at Max Planck Institute and Oxford, leading the discovery of light-induced superconducting states. Associate Professor at the University of Trieste since 2010. Visiting Research Fellow at Princeton (2018-2020). Chair for Solid State Physics at Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen Nuremberg since 2022. Secured grants in 2015 from the Italian Ministry and ERC, establishing "Quantum Spectroscopies for Quantum Materials (Q4Q)" labs. Achieved milestones, including a groundbreaking discovery of cavity control in quantum materials. Fausti's group awarded a 2023 research grant from Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation for further exploration.
